Shannon Cribbin, PT, DPT, CCRT

Shannon earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Indiana State University in 2021. Her passion for rehabilitation began during PT school when she fostered a cat named Doodle, who had been thrown from a car and arrived with a broken pelvis and nerve damage. Using physical therapy techniques she was learning at the time, Shannon helped restore Doodle’s mobility. This experience inspired her to explore rehabilitation for animals.

In 2022, she began studying canine rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) in May 2023. Shortly thereafter, Shannon founded South Sound Canine Rehabilitation to bring compassionate, evidence-based care to pets in their own homes.

Shannon has spent the past four years working as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedics, a role that has equipped her with valuable skills she applies to her canine patients. Her experience in human PT allows her to relate complex conditions to familiar human injuries, such as explaining how ACL tears in humans are similar to CCL injuries in dogs. This helps pet owners better understand their dog’s needs and treatment plans.

When she’s not working with her two- and four-legged patients, Shannon enjoys running, baking, gardening, and exploring the outdoors. She shares her home with two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Lab Heeler mix, as well as two cats, all of whom keep her life full of entertainment, and lots of fur.
